yeah

I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair
I hear the sound of a gentle word
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air

I'm pickin' up good vibrations

Close my eyes
She's somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind
When I look in her eyes
She goes with me to a blossom world

(one of my all-time favorites- also some of the greatest lyrics ever!)

  1. i agree, them are some darn purty lyrics. that song is one of those that i love but i have heard so many times that i switch the radio station when it comes on. i find that sad...Lou Reed's "Wild Side" and Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" were ruined for me in a similar fashion...but it doesn't make the beach boys lyrics any less pretty...

Beach boys are lame. Rock N Roll has been going down hill ever since Buddy Holly died.

listen John Milner, Buddy Holly cant even match the song-writing skills of a fellow plane crash victim the Big Bopper:

    Chantily Lace
    got a pretty face
and a pony tail hangin down
a wiggle in her walk and
a giggle in her talk makes
    the world go round
aint nothin in the world like
    a big eye'd girl
    make me act so funny
    make me spend my money
    make me feel real loose
    like a long neck'd goose
    like a
oh jb thats what I like!

    You don't like crazy music
    You don't like rockin' bands
You just wanna go to a movie show
    And sit there holding hands
    You're so square
    Baby I don't care

I don't know why my heart flips
    I only know it does
I wonder why I love you baby
    I guess it's just because
    You're so square
    Baby I don't care

    or another B-Holly:

    Stars appear
    And the shadows are fallin'
    You can hear
    My heart callin'
    A little bit of lovin'
    Makes everything right
    And I'm gonna see
    My baby tonight

    All of my love
    All of my kissin'
    You don't know
    What you been a missin'

  7. more Big Bopper (White Lightning)

Well in North Carolina, way back in the hills,
Lived my pappy and he had him a still.
He brewed white lightning 'till the sun went down,
And then he'd fill him a jug, an' pass it around.
Mighty, mighty pleasin', you're pappy's corn squeezin'
    White Lightning

Yeah, the G-men, T-men, revenurers too,
Searchin' for the place where he made his brew.
They were lookin', tryin' to book him,
But my pappy kept on cookin'
    White Lightning

Well I asked my pappy why call it brew,
White lightning, 'stead of mountain dew.
I took on sip and then I knew,
As my eyes bugged out and my face turned blue.
Mighty, mighty pleasin', you're pappy's corn squeezin'
    White Lightning

Moooooore Holly and you've yet to put up a B-boys lyric since...

My love a-bigger than a cadillac
I try to show it and you drive a-me back
your love for me a-got to be real
for you to know just how I feel
a love for real not fade away

I'm a-gonna tell you how it's gonna be
you're gonna give your love to me
a love to last a-more than one day
a love that's love - not fade away
    a well, a-love that's love - not fade away

I went down to the sacred store
where I'd heard the music years before
but the man there said the music wouldn't play

It won't work in actual fact, that's exactly what I suppose.
