michelle
do you mean 'chicago' (the band) or all the bands from chicago (the city)??
that guy with the full metal revolutionary jazz ensemble... sounds like he drops a bag of marbles the dancefloor of a tin ship in a storm.
gahlord
the city
bands like: tortoise, sea & cake, gastr del sol

also there is a drumming hero from Swanton, vt named jason corbiere who plays with the grammr nominated 'roomful of blues' he is quite awesome

grammy
the poor grammar nominated band, broom fool of tools.
i like janet weiss, quasi-style. i don't know nothin' about technicalities, but i know what i like. i also like ben's friend mark small. highly entertaining when he plays in unison with that girl from that crazy band they're both in. i didn't like the band as much [they scared me actually] as i liked the drummers. holly chagnon is quite possibly the cutest drummer in the history of cute drummers. how come no one has mentioned def leppard? that guy is an inspiration. right?
John Bonham on Fool in the Rain changed my life.
- Mandy
good call mandy, up until now i wasn't sure if that was Bonham on that album or if he had died and they tried to replace him (like the Who) but it was (allmusic.com)
bare with me...do you know the middle latin whistle freakout part of 'fool in the rain' and how its all brought back home by that huge bonzo timbale fill? that part kills me every time. good stuff
billy cobham (early mahavishnu orchestra)
idris muhammad
zigaboo modeliste (the meters)
ringo starr
chad taylor (chicago underground duo)
klaus dinger (neu!)
carlton barrett (bob marley)
mitch mitchell (jimi hendrix)
gerry conway (pentangle & fairport convention)
billy higgins (ornette coleman)
mick fleetwood (fleetwood mac)
phil collins
robert wyatt (soft machine)
jon mueller
tatsuya nakatani
tim barnes
keith moon (the who)
autechre

greg i gotta say, there is something that strikes me not quite right about billy higgins style...its so clean and smooth its boring (to me) i liked him on 'free jazz' and the don cherry stuff he did, but on albums like 'ornette!' blah.. i'd take rashied anyday! :)
